The following describes how Squarestylist LLC (“Squarestylist,” “we,” “us” or “our”) uses and disseminates information you provide through https://squarestylist.com/ and its sub-domains and affiliated sites including https://squaresavvy.com/, as well as Squarestylist pages and accounts on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Google Ads (the “Sites). By using this Site, you are consenting to this Privacy Policy.
COLLECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
When you visit our Sites, some information about your computer hardware and software is inherently automatically collected, such as your IP address, domain name, browser type, access time and referring website addresses. We typically do not use this information for any purpose, but an example of when we may use this information is in implementing improvements and analyzing the Sites and for troubleshooting purposes. We also utilize this information to monitor and improve services and to ensure that your use of the Sites is in compliance with our Terms of Use.
Many of our services do not require any form of registration, allowing you to visit the Sites without telling us who you are. However, certain services require you to provide us with Personal Data, including:
- Account-based services such as Savvy by Squarestylist, which require you to create an account and provide your email address
- Email opt-ins and newsletters where you voluntarily provide your email address
- Purchases and subscriptions where we collect payment and billing information
When you use services that require an account (such as the Savvy extension or web application), we collect and store personal information including your email address, usage data, conversation history, and subscription details. See the specific service sections below for detailed information about what data each service collects.
In cases where Personal Data is requested, you may choose to withhold any Personal Data, but it may not be possible for you to gain access to certain parts of the site, content, or services. We require only the information that is reasonably required to provide our services and enter into a contract with you. We will not require you to provide consent for any unnecessary processing as a condition of entering into a contract with us.
INTERNATIONAL PRIVACY LAWS AND YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE GDPR
If you are visiting the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that you are sending information to the United States where our servers are located. Information you submit may then be transferred within the United States or back out of the United States to other countries outside of your country of residence, depending on the type of information and how it is stored by us. These countries (including the United States) may not necessarily have data protection laws as comprehensively protective as your country of residence; however, our collection, storage, and use of your data will at all times continue to be governed by this Privacy Policy.
If you are a member of the European Union (EU), you have special rights under the GDPR. Those include: You have the right to object to the processing of your data and the right to portability of your data. All complaints must be sent to support@squarestylist.com. You also have the right to erasure, rectification, access, or to seek restrictions to the processing of your personal data in our system. To the extent you provide consent to our processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Any withdrawal of consent does not apply to data collected lawfully prior to such consent. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority containing jurisdiction over GDPR related issues.
COOKIES: WHAT THEY ARE, AND WHY THEY ARE NEEDED.
A cookie is a data text file sent from a website to your browser, for the purpose of identifying the user and allows access to portions of the website, thus alleviating the need to continually log in with your username and password. Cookies may be stored within your system. To the extent we use cookies, we can only access information from a cookie sent by one of the Sites, not other websites. We may use cookies to personalize your visit to our Sites because tracking usage allows us to best determine the needs of our customers and advertisers.
CHROME EXTENSION DATA COLLECTION AND USAGE
We offer Chrome extensions that enhance your Squarespace design workflow. This section outlines data practices for each extension.
Savvy by Squarestylist Chrome Extension
Savvy by Squarestylist is an AI-powered Chrome extension that helps Squarespace designers generate custom CSS and JavaScript code for their websites. Unlike our Selector Helper extension, Savvy requires user authentication and transmits data to our servers to provide its AI-powered features. This section describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Single Purpose Description
Savvy's single purpose is to help Squarespace website designers create custom CSS and JavaScript code through an AI-powered assistant. All data collection and permissions are strictly necessary to fulfill this purpose.
Limited Use Disclosure
Savvy's use of data is limited to providing and improving the core functionality of AI-powered code generation for Squarespace websites. We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose. Specifically:
- We do not use or transfer user data for serving advertisements
- We do not use or transfer user data for creditworthiness or lending purposes
- We do not sell user data to third parties
- Data is only transferred to our AI service provider as necessary to generate code responses to user requests
Authentication and Account Data
To use Savvy, you must create an account and log in. We collect and store:
- Email address (for account identification and communication)
- Authentication tokens (securely stored in your browser's local storage to maintain your session)
- Subscription tier and usage credits information
Your login credentials are processed through our secure authentication system. We do not store your password in plain text.
Data Collected During Use
When you use Savvy, we collect the following data to provide the service:
1. Conversation Data: Your messages, questions, and the AI-generated responses are stored on our servers to maintain conversation history and improve service quality. This includes:
- Text messages you send to the AI assistant
- AI-generated CSS and JavaScript code responses
- Conversation metadata (timestamps, conversation titles)
2. Element Selection Data: When you use the element selector feature, we collect contextual information about the Squarespace elements you select, including:
- Section and block identifiers (IDs and classes)
- Element paths and CSS selectors
- Computed CSS styles of selected elements
- HTML content (innerHTML) of selected elements for context
- Page body attributes and classes for page-specific targeting
3. Image Data: If you attach screenshots or images to your messages:
- Images are transmitted to our servers in base64 format
- Images are processed by our AI to understand your design intent
- We limit image uploads to 2 images per message, with a maximum size of 5MB per image
4. Site Information: We store the hostname of the Squarespace site you are working on to maintain site-specific conversation context.
5. Code Snippets: If you choose to save code snippets, these are stored in your account for future reference.
Browser Permissions
Savvy requires the following Chrome permissions to function:
- sidePanel: To display the Savvy interface in Chrome's side panel
- storage: To securely store your authentication session and site-specific preferences locally
- activeTab: To interact with the current tab and enable element selection
- scripting: To inject the element selector functionality into Squarespace pages
- webNavigation: To detect page navigation and maintain extension state across page changes
Host Permissions
The extension requests access to the following domains:
- squarespace.com and its subdomains (to enable element selection on Squarespace sites)
- squaresavvy.com (our API server for AI processing and data storage)
The extension injects content scripts that run on all URLs (`<all_urls>`) for the following specific reasons:
- Squarespace sites can use custom domains (e.g., yourbusiness.com), which cannot be predicted in advance
- The Squarespace editor uses iframe-based previews that require content script access to enable element selection
- The content script only activates its selection functionality when it detects Squarespace-specific page elements; it remains dormant on non-Squarespace sites
- No data is collected or transmitted from non-Squarespace websites
How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data to:
- Provide AI-powered CSS and JavaScript code generation based on your requests
- Maintain your conversation history for reference and continuity
- Track your usage credits and subscription status
- Respond to support requests
We do not routinely access or review your conversations. Your conversation data is only accessed by our team when you voluntarily submit feedback through the extension's feedback feature. Conversations submitted via feedback help us improve Savvy's accuracy and usefulness.
Data Storage and Security
- Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage API
- Conversation data, account information, and saved snippets are stored on our secure servers
- All data transmission between the extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data
Data Retention
- Conversation history is retained for as long as your account is active
- You can delete your account and all associated data (including conversation history) directly through the extension's settings
- Upon account deletion, your conversation data, saved snippets, and personal information will be permanently removed from our servers
Third-Party Data Sharing
- We use AI language models to process your requests and generate code. Your messages and element context are sent to these AI services for processing.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
- We do not share your conversation content with third parties for marketing purposes
- We may share anonymized, aggregated usage statistics for service improvement
- We use Anthropic's Claude AI to process your requests and generate code. Your messages and element context are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. See Anthropic's privacy policy at https://www.anthropic.com/privacy
- We use Supabase for authentication and data storage. See Supabase's privacy policy at https://supabase.com/privacy
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your conversation history and account data
- Delete your account and all associated data directly through the extension's settings
- Opt out of non-essential data collection by not using specific features
- Request information about what data we have collected about you by contacting support@squarestylist.com
Feedback and Data Quality
Savvy includes an optional feedback feature that allows you to share conversations with us to help improve the service. Feedback submission is voluntary and helps us understand how to make Savvy more useful.
Children's Privacy
Savvy is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Squarestylist Selector Helper Extension
The Squarestylist Selector Helper Chrome extension is designed to provide CSS selector information and operates entirely within your browser. Our extension operates with a strong commitment to user privacy: it does not collect or store any personal information, does not require user authentication, and does not track any user activity or behavior. While the extension needs to access website data to display CSS selectors, it only accesses what is strictly necessary for this core functionality and does not access any other data from websites you visit. Furthermore, no information from the extension is transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
Separate from the extension's functionality, we may collect email addresses through our marketing signup process when sharing the extension download link. This email collection is distinct from the extension's operation and is governed by the general terms outlined in this privacy policy.
To provide its core functionality, the extension requires specific browser permissions, including access to view CSS selectors on web pages you visit and the ability to display selector information within a popup interface. These permissions are used solely for the extension's fundamental operations, and no data is collected, stored, or transmitted as part of these processes.
By using the Squarestylist Selector Helper, you agree to its limited data usage strictly for functionality as outlined here.
OUR POLICY WITH MINORS.
Our Sites are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you may only use the Sites under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not collect or maintain information from anyone known to be under the age of 18, and no part of this website is designed to attract anyone under the age of 18. We do not sell products or services intended for purchase by children. If we discover or are otherwise notified that we have received any such information from a child in violation of this policy, we will delete that information.
DATA RETENTION
We only retain Personal Data collected from Users for as long as the User's account is active. We will retain and use information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements for a period of 3 years.
USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
If you do choose to provide your personal information, we will not willingly share your information with companies outside our organization, except as described in this Privacy Policy. You may at times receive communications from us related to products and services that we believe might interest you. While we believe these services may enhance your time spent at the Sites, you will at all times have the option and ability to opt out from receiving these communications by specifically choosing to do so via a link which will be provided within emails that we send to you. We may disclose total aggregated user statistics in order to describe our services to potential advertisers, other third parties, affiliate companies, and for other lawful purposes.
The information we gather from you may be used in several ways, either now or in the future, to gain a better understanding of our Sites’ users and their usage pattern as a whole, for site administration and troubleshooting, to process transactions, contest entries and other matters you initiate, to identify preferences in content and advertising, to target editorial, advertising or other content (such as promotions, special offers or other content) we think might be of interest to you. We may also use information we gather from you to communicate changes and improvements to our website or any registration you have made.
You have the right to request access to the information we have for you. You can do this by contacting us at support@squarestylist.com. We will respond within 45 calendar days from the day the request is received. If there are extenuating circumstances preventing the fulfillment of your request, we reserve the right to reasonably extend our response due date, if reasonably necessary, and will notify you of such extension by electronically. We will make sure to provide you with a copy of the data we process about you. In order to comply with your request, we may ask you to verify your identity. We will fulfill your request by sending your copy electronically unless the request specifies a different method. If you believe that the information we have about it is incorrect, or if you wish to remove your private information (such as an email address provided in an opt-in), you may contact us at support@squarestylist.com. Any data that is no longer needed for the purposes specified herein will be deleted.
We do not give away, sell, rent or lease any users’ personally identifiable information to any merchant, advertiser or web publisher. However, non-personally identifiable user information (such as usage pattern, browser type, and your computer) may be shared with third party businesses or advertisers with which we have a business or contractual relationship. We reserve the right to disclose personal information when needed to comply with the law or a legal process, cooperate with investigations of purported unlawful activities, to identify persons violating the law, in connection with the sale of part or all of Squarestylist’s or its affiliates' assets, or to enforce our Terms of Use.
Please keep in mind that if you disclose personally identifiable information in a public manner through the Sites, this information may be collected and used by others accessing those portions of the Sites.
